People sign over unwanted pets, Animal Control picks up strays.

What are the steps necessary to adopt a pet?
The pet is chosen, the adoption fee paid and the pet is given a free exam by Bear River Vet Clinic.

How long does the animal shelter keep pets?
Animals that are picked up wandering stray are held for 72 hours then placed up for adoption, animals signed over are immediately placed for adoption.

What other services besides adoption does the shelter offer?

The shelter sells City Pet Licenses, every dog and cat impounded is given a booster shot, the shelter also offers cremation services.

Dog - $25, Puppy- $5 (under 7 months) Cat -$15, Kitten - $5 (under 7 mo.)

How can I help the animal shelter?

No money donations, because the money is put into the City fund, however we are extremely grateful for donations of pet food and cat litter.
